Darryl Robert Schoon is a financial analyst famous for having predicted the 2008 market crash. He is author of Light in a Dark Place: The Prison Years, Time of the Vulture, Letter to the House Select Committee on Intelligence, Is God Confused?, and The Way to Heaven. He has also written a novel titled You Can’t Always Get What You Want. He is a minister with the Temple of Universality in Tucson, Arizona. His website is drschoon.com.

In this very personal reboot video from 2020, he reveals how and why his years in prison (as a drug dealer) facilitated his achieving a temporary state of enlightenment. He acknowledges that, in his case, the suffering seemed necessary for him to have achieved a breakthrough. Given the positive changes he experienced, he maintains that, if he had the option of doing it all over again, he would do so.
