Sally Rhine Feather, PhD, born in 1930, is on the board or directors of the Rhine Research Center. She is coauthor of The Gift: The Extraordinary Paranormal Experiences of Ordinary People. She is coeditor of J. B. Rhine, Letters 1923-1939.
Sally reviews the history of her parents’ remarkable careers. After receiving their doctoral degrees in botany, they determined to enter the controversial field of psychical research. Nevertheless, they became disillusioned with field studies of séances and mediums, and gravitated towards experimental studies. Using careful scientific controls and statistical methods, while not ignoring personal experiences, they established parapsychology as a scientific discipline.
