Here he describes the life and scholarship of the French scholar, Henry Corbin, particularly with reference to Iranian mysticism and his concept of the imaginal.
Tom Cheetham, PhD, is author of several books, including Imaginal Love: the Meanings of Imagination in Henry Corbin and James Hillman; All the World an Icon: Henry Corbin and the Angelic Function of Beings; Green Man, Earth Angel: The Prophetic Tradition and the Battle for the Soul of the World; and The World Turned Inside Out: Henry Corbin and the Angel Out Ahead.
Here he focuses on the struggle between materialism and spiritual realities, particularly in the light of Henry Corbin’s great scholarship regarding Islamic mysticism. He finds a possible resolution in the poetic imagination.
