Spiritual Bypassing, the Shadow, and the Dangers of Psychological Dissociation and Suppression

In this podcast, we will explore spiritual bypassing, the shadow, and the dangers of psychological dissociation and suppression in spirituality. Though these concerns have been at the forefront of Western psychotherapy, the Eastern spiritual traditions of Hinduism, Buddhism, and Taoism have a had a philosophical and scientific understanding of the mind to counter such psychological issues for thousands of years. But this Eastern science of mind is something a lot of people don’t know about when they first get engaged in spirituality all due to spiritual teachers who have not been trained sufficiently in either tradition, leading to the spiritual teachers themselves suffering from these afflictions of mind. We will explain the proper science of mind in the East and how without a thorough understanding of that system you won’t make any great progress in your own spiritual process.
