Kiran Kumar Salagame, PhD, is former chairman of the psychology department at the University of Mysore, India. He is also vice-president of the International Transpersonal Association. He is author of The Psychology of Meditation: A Contextual Approach.

In this video, rebooted from 2020 he shares his reflections on India’s great spiritual classic, the Bhagavad Gita. He explains that the text goes into detail regarding the transcendental aspects of mind and how it differs from conventional psychological operations. He addresses questions of war and violence in relationship to the Indian philosophy of “ahimsa,” or nonviolence. He compares the revelations of the godhead to observations reported by contemporary transpersonal psychologists.
