Thomas Brophy, PhD, is president emeritus of the California Institute of Human Science. He also serves as president of both the Society for Consciousness Studies and the Institute of Noetic Science. He is author of The Mechanism Demands a Mysticism: An Exploration of Spirit, Matter and Physics as well as The Origin Map: Discovery of a Prehistoric, Megalithic, Astrophysical Map and Sculpture of the Universe. He has also coauthored, two books with Robert Bauval titled Black Genesis: The Prehistoric Origins of Ancient Egypt and Imhotep the African: Architect of the Cosmos.

In this video from 2020, he shares his thinking about the elements of an integral education. He suggests that it should address the whole person and should prepare students to make a positive contribution to the well-being of society. Students at the California Institute of Human Science receive an education that has both technical and spiritual components. They are encouraged to also engage in some form of inner-work as part of their program.
