Alex Gomez-Marin, PhD, is director of the Organism Behavior Laboratory at the Institute of Neuroscience in Alicante, Spain. He is an associate professor at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the director of the Pari Center in Tuscany, Italy. His work encompasses the microscopic origins of the arrow of time, animal neuroethology in different species, and artificial intelligence applied to human stupidity. His current research focuses on the scientific study of consciousness in the real world. His research proposal, "Seeing Without Eyes," won the Linda G. O'Bryant Noetic Sciences research prize.
