Pierre Grimes, PhD, is a specialist in classical Greek philosophy. He is the founder of the American Philosophical Practitioners Association. He is also founder of the Noetic Society in the Los Angeles area. He is author of Philosophical Midwifery: A New Paradigm for Understanding Human Problems with Its Validation, Socrates and Jesus: A Dialogue in Heaven, and Unblocking: Removing Blocks to Understanding. He is also a decorated veteran of the second world war.
In this video from 2017, he describes how he came to develop an approach to self-realization that combines philosophy and psychotherapy. He began this work when he was hired, while still a student, to counsel alcoholics. He discovered that most problems originate in an early childhood event, not particularly traumatic, when adults would stifle a child who was experiencing a pure, blissful moment of creativity. This was often experienced by the parent as a form of mischief. Grimes’ approach is now very systematic.
Edited subtitles for this video are available in Russian, Portuguese, Italian, German, French, and Spanish.
