Helané Wahbeh, ND, MCR is director of research at the Institute of Noetic Sciences in Petaluma, California and an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at Oregon Health & Science University. Dr. Wahbeh is clinically trained as a naturopathic physician and research trained with a Master of Clinical Research and two post-doctoral research fellowships.

In this video, rebooted from 2019, she describes how, as a child, she was exposed to the channeling practiced by her grandmother and uncle. She explains that she defines channeling very broadly to include a wide range of experiences from intuition, to ESP, to trance mediumship. She notes that the Institute of Noetic Sciences is engaged in a program of channeling research that includes both physiological and psychological studies. One of their findings is that channelers, almost universally, report that the experience has been positive for themselves. Another finding is that over 80% of the population have had an experience that fits the broad definition of channeling.
