Trances and visions have long been recognized in various religious traditions and have been the basis of much valued art, music and literature. A distinguished psychologist and former dean of faculty at the Institute for Transpersonal Psychology, Arthur Hastings, Ph.D., explores the phenomenon known variously as spirit communication, trance mediumship or “channelling.”
