Presented for the ParaMOOC2023.
Abstract: Parapsychologists have long been aware that the environment can sometimes appear to hold the memory of past events, which those sensitive to such information can know or re-experienced later. A literature review reveals that place memory-originating events tend to fall into one of two very different categories. One category is a low-emotion event that gets repeated over many years or centuries, while the other appears to originate from a one-time emotionally charged event. This latter category is particularly interesting. It would seem to have all of the experiential constituents we see in spontaneous mind-matter interaction. This talk will include a general discussion of place memory, the value of using phenomenology in parapsychology research, the constituents seen in mind-matter interaction, and my theory of its possible involvement in place memory.
